Township Animal Rescue

A great option for budding veterinarians, vet nurses, animal welfare officers or any lover of cats and dogs, this organisation is dedicated to improving the lives of neglected, abused, and unwanted domestic animals in low-income areas. You’ll assist vets in the clinic and animal hospital, attend mobile clinics in the townships, be part of rescues, treatments, rehabilitations and adoptions and much more.

Kids' Surfing Project

This project was founded by a local surfer and provides an opportunity for kids from the townships to get off the streets and into the water to experience a positive aspect of their home town, having fun and exercise whilst learning how to surf.

You don’t need to be a surfer, but competency in the water is of course essential to be able to keep the kids safe.

You’ll share your passion and knowledge for netball, soccer, rugby, cricket, basketball, tennis +++ with these enthusiastic kids and by being part of their daily physical education sessions, you’ll make a great difference

Get involved with lessons for children from the local township, encouraging the kids to be creative, give them ideas, join and work alongside them and the creative member leading the session.

Township Kindergarten

Working alongside this team of inspiring local women, come and help out at this well-established township childcare centre. The daycare centre takes care of over 60 township children aged from 3 to 6, allowing their parents to go out to work. It’s an amazing opportunity to have a meaningful impact on the lives of these kids

Equine Therapy

If you have a love for horses and a passion for working with children with disabilities, this program is perfect for you. Help disabled children feel the joy and freedom of movement as they experience the incredible social, mental and physical benefits of horse riding. This Therapy in Motion centre is a voluntary, non-profit organisation which provides these special experiences for kids with disabilities, and has achieved amazing results. Min 4 weeks commitment.
