syte travel was launched on the 4th September 2020, following the collapse of the leading youth travel agency STA Travel. Director, Arron Mitchell, worked for STA Travel in 2014-2016 as Store Manager and National Contact Centre Sales Director in the USA.
"I loved my time at STA Travel, it was such a funky brand to work for. syte travel is something we have been working on for awhile now as we have access to the same products that STA Travel did. What we wanted to do was create an evolved student/youth travel brand. syte travel has a lot of the products you could find at STA Travel and plus many more products that you couldn't. We put our customers at the heart of everything we do, offer 24/7 customer support either over the phone or via whatsapp and we are here for you every step of the way."
Arron has been in travel since forever. After studying HND Business, Travel & Tourism he went on to be a holiday rep for Airtours, First Choice & Thomas Cook for 6 years. On his return he went to the planning side of the desk. He quickly worked his way up through the ranks from Travel Consultant, Team Leader, Store Manager, National Contact Centre Sales Director for brands such as First Choice, Travelbag, Tailor Made Travel, STA Travel & Inside Asia Tours.
In January 2017 he formed Platinum World Travel which he started from his spare bedroom, before opening his retail store in the heart of the Forest of Dean in Gloucestershire.
In September 2020, after the collapse of STA Travel, formed syte travel as a modern brand for the youthful traveller along with his business partner, Matt Chamberlain
Matt has been in the travel industry for over 15 years, working as Cabin Crew flying to various destinations throughout the globe.
He worked for Thomas Cook Airlines for 6 years taking customers from the UK to mainly European holiday destinations, for the tour operator along with The Gambia and Canada on behalf of The Gambia Experience and Canadian Affair respectively. Getting a taste for long haul he decided to move on to Virgin Atlantic based out of Heathrow and Gatwick.
He now works for Virgin Atlantic part time as an Onboard Manager and travel's abroad on a nearly weekly basis. From New York to Nigeria, the destinations vary. Through Virgin he has been to most of the Caribbean, the USA, South Africa, parts of Asia and Israel. His favourite place is Tokyo, he loves it so much he would go twice a month back when Virgin flew the route!!
Vicki has been in travel for years, starting at TUI and working her way up to management. For the last two years Vicki has been running her own business with Platinum World Travel as a home based agent. She loves working from home as she can fit around her customers schedules and is always contactable, even on Christmas Day.
She has lived overseas, travelled east and west, sailed away into the sunset on cruises, dabbled in a lot of skiing (although she spends most of the time in Apres Ski, rather than on the slopes)! She has even been lucky enough to stay in some of the most luxurious hotels in the world and also this year finally got to turn left on the aircraft....and still has so many more places and things to tick off her bucket list!
Feel free to follow her on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and watch out for some amazing offers...or email her at email@example.com for any travel requirements you have or to be added to a mailing list.
I have worked in the travel and tourism industry for over five years, with two years before that spent studying travel and tourism. I have worked for a student and youth travel company, working my way from apprentice to store manager. I'm now a travel designer at platinum world travel and I am ready and waiting to get you your next adventure underway. I have sent people all over the world, from backpacking adventures in Thailand to 5* beach bungalows in the Maldives. Whatever it is you're looking for; I will be able to source the perfect trip for you.
I have been lucky enough to visit five out of seven continents and witness first-hand different cultures across the world. My favourite destination was Bali, I loved the chilled-out beach vibes of Gili Trawangan and the rice paddies and art markets of Ubud. It has something for everyone. I have also taken part in a group tour of the North Island of New Zealand and would recommend this style of travel to anyone! It takes all of the stress out of planning your trip and you'll not miss out on any of the highlights!
From New Zealand to New York, Bali to Barcelona, Majorca to Mexico - I've got you covered.
